About me

I have always loved to draw from an early age, encouraged by my parents. My Dad was good at drawing and I like to think that I followed in his footsteps. I used to love drawing all sorts of things and making my own greeting cards.

On leaving school I completed a two-year art foundation course in Northampton where I was able to experience a host of different areas of art and went on to complete a two-year HND in Spatial Design (interior, exhibition and tv set design), at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design, followed by my first job designing office interiors. I have also worked as a catalogue layout artist, senior designer and from 2006 running my own graphic design business on the south coast.

I continued to draw and paint aside of my graphic design work. I enjoy pen and watercolour media, enjoying the detail that I can achieve and have developed my style.

I am very much inspired by my coastal location and surroundings and by places I have visited when travelling. I have a passion for beach huts which has become very apparent in a lot of my recent work.

I love animals and have always had them in my life. Creating pet portraits has added a different dimension again for me. I love the detail and capturing the character of the animal in the portrait I am working on. I also find drawing fur very relaxing.

I hope that you enjoy looking at my work.
